DynoSCAN for PALM
Performance - Diagnostic Scan tool
| |
DynoSCAN PALM is an exciting new palm software for the automotive enthusiast. Data log engine sensors and GPS position, measure horsepower and torque, trigger alarms lights, and diagnose that pesky Check Engine light. DynoSCAN can do this and a whole lot more.
| DynoSCAN can be installed in a Palm mounted inside a vehicle. It easily connects to any 2000 or newer vehicle using the OBD II diagnostic port located under the dashboard - no hard wiring is required. 133 different vehicle parameters are polled from the OBDII such as engine RPM, oxygen sensors, fuel economy, and air-fuel ratio. |

| Scan Tool Software |

Auterra's scan tool diagnostic features are the most powerful and easy-to-use for Palm OS. Thousands of generic and enhanced diagnostic trouble code definitions (DTCs), including P, B, C and U codes, provide accurate descriptions for vehicle fault codes. Line graphs, bar graphs, and meters allow you to view live data streams anyway you want. Unlimited datalogging and playback allows driving tests to uncover those hard-to-find intermittent problems. Not to mention clearing DTCs and turning off the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light, and so much more!
Checkout our Supported Parameters page for a complete list of supported vehicle measurements. Shown below are a few of the key scan tool screens available:

| Connect - this screen is the first to display. It offers brief instructions and a Connect button to initiate the connection process. |
| General Information- displays general information about the vehicle's test systems. If a system test is not supported by the vehicle, the display shows a dash next to the status name. |
Graph - displays real-time sensor measurements in a graphical format. A large trace buffer, pause, and zoom make analyzing data a breeze.
All live data screens can record and playback data obtained from the vehicle. 0.5MB of Palm RAM will store approximately 1 hour of recording at the fastest sample rate.
Slide a marker around with the stylus to get an exact data point anywhere on the graph. |
| Dual Graph - displays real-time sensor measurements in a graphical format on two graphs.
Slide a marker around with the stylus to get an exact data point anywhere on the graph. |
| Diagnostic Trouble Codes- displays the pending and stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) logged by the vehicle. If the vehicle's Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light on the instrument panel is illuminated, a Stored DTC will be displayed. |
| DTC Lookup - want the definition for a trouble code? Just tap the DTC number to find out what the code means. We have DTC definition databases for most make and model vehicles. DTC index |
| Test Results- shows the results for on-board diagnostic monitoring test of specific components / systems that are continuously monitored (e.g. mis-fire monitoring) and non-continuously monitored (e.g. catalyst system). |
| Freeze Frame - displays the vehicle's freeze frame log. When a Diagnostic Trouble Code occurs that illuminates the Check Engine light, the vehicle's computer saves the current values of the vehicle sensors at the moment the error occurred. |
| Meter - displays real-time sensor reading from the vehicle in large, easy-to-read numbers at a distance. Up to two sensors can be monitored simultaneously. |
| Parameter Select - this dialog displays when the Edit.. button is pressed to provide parameter selection, units of measure, and polling speed among other things. |
List - displays real-time sensor reading from the vehicle in list format. Up to five sensors can be monitored simultaneously.
| Oxygen Sensor - displays the vehicle's oxygen sensor test results. Not all test values are applicable to all vehicles. Therefore, the list generated varies depending on vehicle. |
| Vehicle Info - shows vehicle specific information such as Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Calibration IDs and Performance Tracking counters. |
| On-Board Tests - executes the bi-directional controls supported by the vehicle. |
| Code Search - provides an interactive search through all the trouble code databases. |

Dyno Scan for Dyno and Horsepower
Auterra's Dyno-Scan dynamometer features include horsepower and torque measurements, acceleration tests, and fuel mileage. The remarkable dyno features are are an Auterra first! Never before has a product combined the power of a diagnostic scan tool with a performance measuring dyno package.
Did that engine modification really increase horsepower? What is my vehicle's 0-60 time? How fast is my vehicle on the 1/4 mile? Auterra's Dyno-Scan measures this and a whole lot more!
The Dyno-Scan software records speed and RPM signals while the vehicle accelerates through the RPM range. With vehicle and environmental parameters entered, such as vehicle weight, drag coefficient, altitude, and air temperature, the software creates horsepower and torque curves.
Environmental factors are corrected for using the industry standard SAE J1349. This dyno correction factor is used to standardize the horsepower and torque readings, so that the effects of air pressure, humidity, elevation, and temperature are removed from the measurements. With this dyno correction factor applied, measurements from a vehicle dyno'ed on a cold day in Denver will produce the same results as a hot day in San Diego.
Vehicle factors, such as drag coefficient, frontal area, and vehicle weight, are also compensated for within the software. This means regardless of whether your vehicle has the aerodynamics of a Ford F150 or a Porsche 911, the software correctly measures power and torque.
